Glo Ghana Manager Arrested For Defilement – The Eastern Regional Manager of Glo Ghana, Awoseni Akinyemi, 30, a Nigerian has been arrested for allegedly defiling a 14 – year – old Junior High School student in Koforidua.

The accused allegedly defiled the JHS 2 student three times in his house at Abrewa – Nkwanta, a suburb of Koforidua after which he gives her contraceptive each time he had sex with her.

The suspect who is a married man with children in Nigeria was put before Koforidua circuit court “B” on Monday, July19,2021.

The Prosecuting officer told the court that the victim stays with the mother in Koforidua whiles the father works as Fuel Station Manager in Tema.

He continued that on July 9, 2021, the father of the victim came to Koforidua quietly to survey based upon tip – off that a man has been picking the daughter with his private car almost everyday to an unknown destination after school.

However, the searched the school bag of the victim the day the accused did not show up and he found tablets of “Lydia emergency contraceptive”.

Upon interrogation, the alleged victim confined in the father that, in June 2021, the accused met her and told her she was beautiful and wants them to be friends. The alleged victim added the accused bought her Lydia Contraceptive anytime he has sexual intercourse with her.

The father of the victim the lodged formal complaint at the Eastern Regional Office of the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) where a medical report form was issued to the alleged victim.

The medical doctor who examined the victim confirmed the abuse. The accused was then arrested by the police. The accused admitted the offense but said the victim visited him twice and that he had sex with her only during her first visit.

The accused has been charged with defilement contrary to section 101 (2) of the Criminal Offenses Act 29/60 as amended by section 11Act 554/98.
