Deputy Director General Of Ghana Health Service Visits Sankore Health Centre – The Deputy Director General of Ghana Health Service, Dr Anthony Adofo Ofosu, MBChB , MPH, FGPS, Msc (Epid) DTMH visited Sankore Health Center in the Asunafo South District in Ahafo Region.

As he tours the region to monitor and have direct interaction with the entire staff, some facilities were privileged to be selected, among them were Sankore Health Center, Hwidem, etc.

He was accompanied by the Regional Health Directorates team led by the Regional Health Director, Dr. Samuel Kwabena Boakye-Boateng and the Asunafo South Health Directorates team led by the District Director Mr. Kwadwo Ansong.

The Deputy Director General of Ghana Health Service was at Sankore Health Center on 19th of July,2023 to motivate and encourage the staff to work as a team to achieve the aims and objectives of Ghana Health Service.

He made mention that, “the success of the facility depends on the team work, if we come together and put all our personal misunderstanding aside, we will be able to reach our goals”. Again, in addressing the entire staff, Dr Anthony Adofo Ofosu brought out some points which will help the facility to achieve it’s purpose by stating that; “We must aim at the ball and shoot to fulfill our purpose and also do our best to contribute our quota to the development of the facility”. He emphasized on leaving a legacy wherever you find yourself.

With regards to the transition of Sankore Health Center into Sankore Polyclinic, in addressing News360hub.com, he explained the concept that, “the transition may not be infrastructure expansion but may be more of equipment for the services and to make more efficient use of the equipment since it’s going to serve the other communities. These equipment are for easy access to quality health care delivery in the environs .

In addition, the Regional Health Director of Ahafo Region, Dr. Samuel Kwabena Boakye-Boateng made some contributions by praising the entire staff for their immense contributions so far. He further encouraged the staff to continue contributing their quota to the success of the facility. He further responded to some of the issues raised by some staffs of the facility.

Also, the Asunafo South Health Director, Mr. Kwadwo Ansong also praised the staff and encouraged them to do more to be part of the success story of the facility. He also responded to some issues raised by some staffs since opportunities were given to raise issues concerning their work and so on.

The Head of the facility, Mr. Asante Offei was given the mandate to express his gratitude to the entire team from the national to the staff. He then pleaded with the authorities to come into his aid since there are shortage of staff at the facility due to study leave and also release of staff from the facility.

He pleaded that, the authorities could respond to such issues in as soon as possible since it’s having major impact on the quality of service they render at the facility. He later acknowledged the presence of the teams and the entire staff.
