Rawlings’ passing must stop exorbitant politicization in Ghana Bombande – Senior United Nations (UN) Mediation Advisor, Emmanuel Bombande, says the end of previous President Jerry John Rawlings must be an energizing point for union in the midst of the exorbitant politicization in the nation.
He said the life and administration of the late President depicted patriotism instead of partisanship; something Ghanaians must gain from.
Addressing the media subsequent to marking the book of sympathy opened to pay tribute to the late previous President, the previous Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister stated: “Ghana needs to heal, we cannot continue on this path of division. The path of ‘it is us versus them’ and everything now has sunk to a low point of politics”.
He moaned about the condition of legislative issues in the nation.
“Now in Ghana, you cannot pursue a political career if you do not strategically position yourself within a political party, especially the two main ones.”
Promoting the estimations of the late previous president, Mr. Bombande implored Ghanaians, particularly lawmakers to copy him.
“Rawlings however had a bigger heart. He was the founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and yet was open to anyone from the opposite side. It is time to heal, it is time to hold our hands and walk together. “
